Iga Swiatek : Poland’s star tennis player Iga Świątek achieved another major milestone in her career by winning the Wimbledon 2025 women’s singles title. In the final match, she defeated American player Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-0 in a very one-sided fashion to win the title. This scoreline is known as the “double bagel” in the world of tennis and this is the first time in 114 years in a Grand Slam final that a player has won the championship without losing a game.
With this spectacular victory, Swiatek won her first Wimbledon title and sixth Grand Slam title overall. Earlier, she had won the French Open (4 times) and the US Open (1 time). Now she is just one step away from achieving the “Career Grand Slam” by winning the Australian Open.
The final match ended in just 57 minutes, which shows her dominance. With this win, Swiatek not only answered her critics, but also achieved the distinction of becoming Poland’s first female Wimbledon winner.
After the match, she said that this victory was a “special moment” in her career and hoped that now the critics will let her “play a little more peacefully.” At the trophy distribution ceremony, Britain’s Princess of Wales Kate Middleton presented her with the winner’s trophy.
